School Governor Opportunities
School Governor Opportunities
Every school has a Board of Governors which often includes parents of children at the school, professionals and volunteers, members from the community and school staff, including the Headteacher. They work in partnership with the Multi Academy Trust Board and Senior leaders.
Dedicated to school development and improvement, they work in partnership with the school management team and make important decisions about the running of the school. This is in relation to curriculum provision, pupil targets, school development plans, staffing, health and safety and management of premises. They offer challenge and support.
If you have skills and experience in management, HR, education or strategic business planning and can spare a few hours per term to make a real difference to the education and life outcomes of young people in our area, then we would love to hear from you.
We have governor opportunities at our secondary schools in Childwall and Maghull and our Initial Teacher Training centre in Wavertree.
What you will gain:
- A chance to develop transferable skills in strategic management
- The satisfaction of contributing to the community
- A sense of achievement in making a difference to children’s lives
- Training to develop an understanding of governance and specific school management issues
