Over 250 staff from across Lydiate Learning Trust (LLT) gathered at The Spine in Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter for a day of professional development, collaboration, and inspiration. The annual Trust Inset Day provided a platform for teachers and staff to exchange ideas, learn from leading speakers, and reaffirm their commitment to delivering exceptional education. The event focused on ‘Engaging with our city, Enabling growth and Empowering all.’

It’s so encouraging to see a Trust that invests in continuous learning, not just for students but for its educators too. I’ve had great conversations with staff who are eager to implement new strategies, and that is what these days are all about.”

The event took place at The Spine, home to the Royal College of Physicians, a location chosen for its alignment with LLT’s vision of innovation excellence.

As the day concluded, attendees left feeling motivated and equipped with new strategies to implement in their classrooms. Staff expressed their enthusiasm for the event, with one saying, “It has been such a valuable day. The sessions were insightful and gave me new strategies that I can take straight into my classroom. It is great to feel so supported and part of a wider learning community.”

The programme featured eminent speakers, including Nina Jackson, an educator and author known for her work in SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities), mental health and well-being. Reflecting on the event, Nina said, “Today has been a powerful day of educational professionals engaging in dialogue, actions, and planning to meet the needs of our SEND learners.
