Lydiate Learning Trust (LLT) recently celebrated a significant milestone as it officially welcomed Knotty Ash Primary School into its growing family of schools. The event was filled with excitement, collaboration, and a true sense of belonging, ensuring that the newest members of the Trust immediately felt a strong sense of connection and belonging.

The day began with a warm and engaging welcome assembly led by Lianne Greenall, LLT’s Primary School Director of Education. This special gathering helped the children connect with the Trust and understand what it means to be part of the LLT family. They were warmly welcomed by the Headteacher and students of Childwall Sports and Science Academy (CSSA), further strengthening the sense of unity within the Trust.

A particularly thrilling moment for the children was the introduction of Lenny the Lion! Lydiate Learning Trust’s mascot was created to build connections and bring joy to primary students. The excitement didn’t stop there  —when the children returned to their classrooms, they were delighted to find their very own ‘Lenny’ plush toy and a special welcome note waiting for them. Their surprised reactions and joyful expressions truly captured the spirit of the day.

The celebrations continued with a ‘Leaders as Readers’ session, where leaders from across the Trust shared their love of reading with the children in anticipation of World Book Day. This initiative not only highlighted the importance of reading but also reinforced the Trust’s commitment to fostering a lifelong love of learning.

The afternoon was filled with engaging activities that brought the LLT values to life. From energetic lion dancing and calming lion yoga to an adventurous lion-themed orienteering challenge, the children had an unforgettable experience, strengthening their sense of community and teamwork.

To round off the day, families were invited to take part in a lively ‘Community Bingo’ session. This was a fantastic opportunity for parents, carers, staff and the Trust Leadership Team to come together, share in the celebration, and enjoy some fun-filled moments together.

The event was a resounding success, creating lasting memories and reinforcing the Trust’s core values of Engage, Enable, and Empower. By engaging children and families in meaningful experiences, enabling them to feel a strong sense of belonging, and empowering them through collaborative opportunities, the day truly embodied what it means to be part of the LLT family. LLT is thrilled to have Knotty Ash Primary School as part of the family and looks forward to the journey ahead, ensuring that every child continues to thrive within the Trust’s supportive and inspiring environment.
